The 1990's brought some dramatic changes. Eddie died in 1991, as the result of complications from the emphysema which had plagued him for several years. And, after encouragement from family and friends (and an especially horrendous winter), Milly decided to sell the house in Lindenhurst and move to Florida.

By the end of the decade, Milly had become a fully-fledged Floridian (not to be confused with a half-fledged snowbird). Now she takes blue skies and warm breezes for granted, while her daughters and sons-in-law (who live in grayer, damper climes) look on with a mild degree of envy.
